The Dragon king

I created the Dragon King as part of the ArtStation challenge Dragon's Rise: Forgotten Realms back in 2022. I am adding the high poly sculpt to my portfolio for now and will update the post when I am finished with the game ready version. The style I went with for my character was inspired by the Blizzard game Diablo. I started the sculpt in Zbrush by making a Zsphere rig then turning it into geometry using the adaptive skin feature. I then could begin sculpting the big forms and making sure the proportions were looking good before sculpting the small details. I really enjoy the sculpting process and creating something with so much detail is really satisfying for me. Some Lore I wrote for this character: It was a dark day for the realms when the the resurrection of the dragon king had been confirmed. The ancient and long forgotten realms that had been abandoned since the terrible reign of the dragon king had left them blighted and corrupted, are home to an ancient group of cultists. Centuries had given the cultists time to practice resurrecting the dead. Deep into the forgotten kingdom they have been left alone to amass an army of tainted undead. And now they have achieved their ultimate goal: the return and rise of the dragon king!
